Deputy Chairman Morten Hansen is Head of Economics Department at Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, columnist at ir.lv, a contributor to the Economist Intelligence Unit and director of MHansen Consulting.
He is from Denmark but has resided in Latvia since 1993 and formerly worked at EuroFaculty, University of Latvia. As of January 1 2014, Morten Hansen is a member of the Fiscal Council of Latvia. On 22 December 2016 Saeima has approved Morten Hansen as the Fiscal Council member for the second term.
In the period from January 1, 2020 until the end of term of mandate, Morten Hansen was the Deputy Chairman of the Council. Morten Hansen is currently a member of the Council's expert panel.
