Fiscal Discipline Council: The impact of the Covid-19 crisis support measures on the state budget is critical
The impact of government support measures on the state budget in the Covid-19 crisis is already critical and will reach 2.1 billion euros or 6.8% of GDP this year. The Fiscal Discipline Council therefore calls on the government to remain fiscally responsible and to phase out support if the epidemiological situation allows. If new support instruments are to be introduced in the autumn, they must be proportionate, effective and well targeted.
